Street Series

Nitron are excited to announce the release of a new line of shock absorbers for Lotus customers.  The Nitron Street Series will offer high performance and exceptional value for money. 

Designed and developed by Nitron, the shocks use gas-monotube technology.  This means they offer a distinct performance advantage over the many twin-tube based products on the market in this price bracket, in terms of weight, responsiveness, and fade resistance. 

The Street Series kit has one damping adjuster that alters both bump and rebound damping.  The shocks are billet machined from lightweight aluminium and come with spherical bearing ends and Nitron’s proven low friction sealing system. 

As a more road orientated kit, the Nitron Street Series are valved and sprung accordingly to give optimal body control without any undue harshness.  For customers using their car predominantly for track days Nitron would still recommend the legendary NTR range of shocks due to their better control and fade resistance. 

As with all Nitron products, the kits come with a year’s warranty. 

 

NTR Sport

The kit comprises four 1-way adjustable dampers with Eibach springs.  The single adjuster knob affects both bump and rebound together for simple setup and more road-biased use.  These shocks have no remote reservoir.  All shocks feature adjustable spring platforms for ride height adjustment, plus the front units are also length adjustable to set the ride height whilst maintaining even spring preload.  

This kit retains the OE (original equipment) top mounts and so offers some extra compliance and comfort for road use.  This rubber compliance will however become a barrier to ultimate feedback on the track.

NTR Sport kit features:

NTR Sport +

The kit comprises four 1-way adjustable dampers with Eibach springs.  The single adjuster knob affects both bump and rebound together for simple setup and more road-biased use.  These shocks have no remote reservoir.  All shocks feature adjustable spring platforms for ride height adjustment.  The rear springs can either be supplied as normal barrel type or coil-over if the car is fitted with a roll cage.

This kit includes Nitron's camber and castor adjustable pillow-ball top mounts, these eliminate all rubber in the system and so ensure all road inputs are transmitted directly into the damper, maximising wheel control and providing optimum feedback to the driver's finger tips.  The adjustable top plates also give the option to increase camber or castor angles for a more track orientated geo setup (for example trackday type tyres can permit use of more camber).

NTR Sport Track

As its name suggests, this kit is designed for the more circuit-orientated car.  The kit features independent bump and rebound damping adjusters, making it 2-way adjustable for more detailed chassis tuning.  By adjusting either bump or rebound damping the damping ratio can be adjusted.  The remote reservoir kits provide an extra level of smoothness and compliance than the 1-way kits, this is mainly due to the independent bump and rebound valving mechanisms.  Other benefits of remote reservoirs are higher fade resistance due to a higher oil volume, plus a larger surface area to radiate the heat to the atmosphere.

NTR Sport Race

This kit is designed for serious race use, and as such incorporates high and low speed bump control valves for further chassis fine tuning.  By adjusting either bump or rebound damping the damping ratio can be adjusted, however the extra adjustment over the 2-way opens up many more options during the setup process.  For example the high speed damping can be kept soft so the car is not thrown by running kerbs, whilst not compromising body control in the transient cornering phase (turn in, applying power). The low speed control is more concerned with grip. Softening the low speed will increase the grip, useful if suffering from power-oversteer.

The NTR Race remote reservoir kit provides yet another level of performance over the 1-way and 2-way kits, this is mainly due to the independent bump and rebound valving mechanisms, and the low speed bleed reducing harshness and increasing grip further.  Other benefits of remote reservoirs are higher fade resistance due to a higher oil volume, plus a larger surface area to radiate the heat to the atmosphere.
